Being a Young Carer
In October of last year, CoWL began an exciting initiative with West Lothian College. A team of Creative Media students started a work placement with CoWL. Their task? To produce and complete a creative media piece of work for us. And 5 months later we are thrilled to share their hard work!
SVQ students Elliot Russell and Niamh Baxter met with Young Adult Carers Ruth Williams and Zoe Hepburn. Over a podcast they had an honest and open conversation about what it means to be a Young Carer and how it impacts their day to day life. It’s such an interesting and enjoyable podcast and we would encourage you to click on the link to listen.
Due to the COVID restrictions all their work placement has taken place online and under such difficult circumstances we think that Elliot and Niamh have produced a fantastic piece of work.
Please share this with family, friends and colleagues. “Very well done to all involved!”
What it Means to be a Young Carer
West Lothian has many places to walk right on our door step and even around our streets, there’s usually trees and shrubs to admire so you don’t need to go far.
Why not click on the link below and enjoy a Walking Podcast from the Alliance either whilst out for a walk or in the comfort of your home. It lasts about 40 minutes.
