We’re still celebrating Volunteers’ Week here in Sycamore House and today we’re meeting volunteer and board member Tyler!

How long have you volunteered with CoWL?

I began volunteering at CoWL in 2018 when I became a member of the Board.

What does a session of volunteering look like for you?

My volunteering experience consists mainly of meetings with the Board, staff and representatives of other organisations and local support services. I have also helped other volunteers and staff promote CoWL and its services in the West Lothian area.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

My first experience with CoWL was attending the Young Carer’s group; it was a lifeline for me and helped me and my family immensely – volunteering gives me the chance to give something back to CoWL.

What would you say to someone interested in volunteering?

Go for it! There are numerous different types of volunteering work at CoWL – there is something for everyone. Volunteering is incredibly fulfilling and is great for meeting new people and having new and unique experiences.

If you would like to become a volunteer for Carers of West Lothian, please get in touch! We have a wide range of opportunities available, and can find anything to fit your skillset.
