ABOUT Carers of West Lothian

Mission

Carers of West Lothian is a carer led voluntary organisation and charity that aims to provide support, information, a voice for carers and to work with others to ensure a better quality of life for all carers.

We Aim to:

  • Listen to carers and offer support
  • Ensure that good and reliable information is available to carers
  • Help ensure that carers have access to individual support, training, counselling, advocacy and breaks from caring
  • Ensure that individual carers' needs are assessed and that collective needs are recognised
  • Seek to involve carers at all times
  • Help carers to participate at all levels in health and community care planning and decision making
  • Raise awareness and educate professionals and the general public about the needs of carers
  • Campaign and lobby on issues important to carers including their unmet needs
  • Promote and publicise our organisation for the benefit of carers throughout West Lothian
  • Contribute to the development of appropriate services for carers
  • At all times work in partnership with carers, carer groups, and the statutory, voluntary and private agencies
  • ENSURE CARERS HAVE A REAL VOICE
